There has been some shaking and moving in the latest Hillsman Heavy Top 10. Lincoln Academy and Sandy Creek are out, Buford and East Coweta are in.

Buford withstood Wheeler in OT and move to 7-0 and go from a “other” all the way up to No.3. The Wolves have been gaining steam but the win over Wheeler pushed them into the top 5. With a Trip to the Arby’s Classic coming up the Wolves will see some non-Ga teams.

East Coweta just keeps winning and that got them in as they defeated previously ranked Sandy Creek. Sandy Creek rebounded with a triple-overtime win over Dacula but that was not enough to hold off East Coweta.

Lincoln Academy falls from No.4 to out. The Bulldogs just didn’t look engaged in a defeat to Legacy Early College (SC) and will need to get back on track with their heavy non-Ga schedule and look better in the process.

Upson Lee ran it’s win streak to 72 games and switched spots with Morgan County. UL needed a win over a quality opponent and although Langston Hughes has struggled out the gate this season, Upson Lee got the win and stay undefeated. The Knights are in prime position to run the table again this season and win 4A and quite frankly that is expected and doing so will keep them in the rankings all season. yes Upson Lee I received the shirt and yes I will wear it to honor the bet because I can dish it and take it.

McEachern stays at No.1 and with a loaded City Of Palms trip coming up the Indians will see plenty of quality opponents this week. Meadowcreek is sitting pretty at No.2 and a McEachern slip up may push them to No.1. Defensively there may not be a better team in Georgia despite the two non-Ga losses.

Wheeler lost two straight games to Buford and McEachern and will have to rebound well as they hit the national portion of their schedule beginning with a Trip to the Emerald Coast 16 this week.

Holy Spirit Prep slid a spot and the margin of error is beginning to close. 5 losses albeit to quality teams is beginning to add up. The schedule really gets thick with national opponents the remainder of the month so good showings and wins will be vital for the Cougars to remain ranked.
